Texas Holdem Software
Did you know most if not all professional poker players use some kind of texas holdem software to help analyze their own play and their competitors.
What kind of software do they use?
Relax and I'll tell you :)
Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.

Brief Overview of Different Holdem Software
This piece of software will download your hands from almost all poker rooms and give you all sorts of statistics regarding your play.
How many hands you play, how many hands you raise, how many hands you take to showdown and how much you win when you showdown your cards.
Those are a few of hundreds of statistics it provides.
I think Poker Tracker is an essential tool if you are looking to get serious about your poker game.
The Huds
Display the stats of different players on your poker table. Almost all of them require that you have Poker Tracker.
Game Selection Software
These also require Poker Tracker.
What they will do is show you all the players on any table and what stats they have (how many hands they play, how many they raise etc..)
Multi Table Helpers
These help you play several tables, whether you want to operate your tables with a mouse, keyboard or with your voice. It is your decision.
Equity & Poker Odds Calculators
The best calculators I have found are free. Unlike the ones you find everywhere trying to sell you their software for $47 or whatever it is.
Personally I don't like them and the ones I recommend are a lot better.
The Games
There are a lot of games out there that will help a beginner get started with basic things like pot odds, recognizing the board, reading your hand and so on. You can take as much time as you want, I highly recommend these games if you're starting out and don't want to try the online play money games.
Summary
If you are serious about learning poker and want to increase your chances of winning I recommend learning how to use the most important pieces of software.
If you are totally new to the game I recommend you learn the basics first and then move to using software more.
