What, in your experience have been the pros and cons of gambling?

Well Hello Ken!

Hmm, that's interesting. All in all gambling in poker has been good for me. It has given me a lot of time to do other things I enjoy. For example, traveling, martial arts and hanging out with people I like.

Gambling for most people seems like a big con. Because they are approaching it in the wrong way. You really have to put effort into learning a game like poker.

And do not risk too much in the beginning, because you are a favorite to lose money. Why not do it cheaply or even at the free money tables at a site like Pokerstars?

Anyway, back to the point!

Here's a list of the pros and cons (in my experience):

Pro's

  1. More time
  2. I like playing poker
  3. I make more than a regular job
  4. I decide when to play
  5. I decide when to take a vacation
  6. I've learned discipline
  7. I've learned to plan
  8. I've learned to think about how others think

Con's

  1. Stressful when running bad
  2. Anti-social workplace since I play online
  3. Hard to find support when you're running bad unless you have an awesome friend(s), family or significant other. Or maybe a dog! ;-)
