If I start feeling the slightest bad feeling in myself, I sit out, or quit. One of my favorites is to start doing a breathing exercise while I am playing, put all of my focus on my breathing, and even counting my breaths.
If you have a voice in your head going on about how bad you played, or whatever, then just turn the volume down. You can actually do that, and if you think I'm crazy because I am suggesting this, then the answer is Yes, I am, and I've worked hard at it.

Start with having a piece of paper handy when you are playing, and every time you have a negative emotion rise up, notice where it is in your body, how it feels and preferably how it comes about and what causes it.
Practice Makes Perfect

Notice where that good feeling is, where in the body it is, and in what direction it’s spinning. And after you've done that, spin the feeling faster and faster, and the feeling will start getting more intense.
Notice what images you are making in your mind, and try things out. If I make these pictures bigger, brighter and step into them more, it intensifies my feeling. Try making it bigger and smaller, in color or black and white, and see what makes the feeling stronger.
Now notice what sounds you hear when you are imagining feeling good, and make the sounds louder or smaller depending on what makes you feel even better. You can also do the opposite with bad feelings, by noticing where the feeling is and in which direction it is spinning and spinning it in the opposite direction.
Throw the image away and put in a better one that makes you feel good. Turn down the volume and put good stuff in. It's that simple, and though most never even consider this to be possible, it’s your mind, you can do what you want with it. Remember to have fun!
Making Specific Rules
This is very important and is the point of this whole no limit texas holdem tip article. If you don’t have very specific rules, you will try to talk yourself out of using them, and this is especially easy if you are in a bad emotional state after a few beats and you just want to continue on.
When you've written down what emotions are bad for you, like frustration, anger and the like, promise yourself that every time you start to get any of these feelings, you will either take a break or quit.
If you find yourself being able to talk yourself around your rules, then you aren't making them specific enough. If X happens, then you stop––keep it simple so you can spot easily when to quit. 1. If I start getting frustrated and feel the bad feeling in my chest (where I feel it) I take a break; and if it doesn’t go away, I quit and come back later.
2. If I find myself talking around my rules, then it’s okay, I am okay, because I can handle these emotions, but I will take a break and quit if it doesn't get better.
These are rough examples, but remember to come up with your own. If you can't come up with any good ones off the bat, then just write something down and make them better after each session you play.
