Free Texas Holdem Downloads

Free texas holdem downloads can be found all over the place. It all depends on what you're looking for. There are free hold'em poker software, games, books and poker rooms. There's more to that list, but I just can't remember all of them. I'll let you know when I get more ;)

Texas Holdem Software

Free software is always easy to find. You can go to google and search for something like "free texas holdem downloads" and find tons of stuff.

I actually do not recommend the free calculators, games and other poker related software. My reason for this is that more often than not you might get a virus or something else unpleasant.

There are some websites that offer free software which seem very reliable. I wouldn't have any trouble downloading off of a site like that. They are in the minority though.

I found one of these free software which doesn't even require downloading!

Gpokr

Gpokr is a free texas holdem online tournament. It was developed by a guy called Ryan Dewsbury who has written a book about Google Web Toolkit Applications. I would call that reliable.

He has no reason to destroy your life or computer. And you do not have to download anything.

The way Gpokr works is that each tournament starts at noon (12PM) on the first day of every month and ends on midnight (12AM) on the first day of the next month. The player with the most chips at the end of the month wins!

Free Poker Books

To be honest, it's incredibly hard to find poker books that are free. Most of the eBooks out there on poker are merely promotional, extremely basic and often times filled with flawed advice.

The only good eBook I know is my poker course. Yes, I know. I am sorry for promoting myself but my priority is on helping you and by pointing you to my poker course I am doing that. I promise! ;)

Free Texas Holdem Downloads

Playing free at poker rooms is what I consider more fun than playing a crappy software. Don't you agree? Most who read this page is going to have a good internet connection. That means you can play at Poker Stars, Full Tilt or Party Poker and not pay a dime doing it.

The best way to learn is to start at the bottom. Even though play money games aren't entirely realistic, they are helpful. Seriously, learn to beat the play money games before you try the nickle & dime real money games.

That's my advice. Even though I could make money by telling you to play the real money games instantly I am not going to do that.

Instead I'll tell you, start with play money and when and only when you feel comfortable, step up to the $0.02/$0.04 real money hold'em games or whatever you feel you can afford.
